Oh um…yeah, no. Dad and the rapist are not the same person. Dave’s initial reaction to him when he and John showed up was the result of him pinging as a threat simply because he was a middle-aged, semi-formally dressed white dude. Considering Dave has had scanty if any interaction with this type in his lifetime, as well as the result of his last encounter with one and the post-traumatic state he’s in because of it, he’s reasonably a bit confused and intimidated by this sudden, new stranger.
